Ki-Akido

What is Ki-Aikido?

The art of Winning without Fighting, Ki-Aikido (氣 合気道) is a form of self-defense and self-development that harmonizes your opponent’s Ki with your own Ki.

The basis of Ki-Aikido is the belief that you do not need to be physically strong to defeat an opponent. All you need to know is how to lead their strength to benefit you. How you do that is what this martial art is about.

‘Ki’ is the energy that surrounds you

Ki is the energy of the universe that flows through you and around you. It exists within everything and everyone. When you learn to coordinate the energy that flows within you, it is believed to calm your mind and body.

The use of the opponent’s Ki to guide them to defeat by understanding the nature of its flow is the technique used in Ki-Aikido. This is where the mind and the body unite to achieve safety, leaving peace and harmony unharmed.

Ki-Aikido is not just for a person of a particular age, gender, or status. The training is unique to each person. You actively practice and apply Ki in your daily life.
