SAdo

What is Sado?

Sado (茶道) is a traditional tea ceremony hailed from Japanese culture. It originated from the intention of having high-profile diplomatic meetings among the Samurai while having the utmost respect for the invitee or the guest.

In Sado, green tea is prepared and served in a room with a ‘tatami’ (straw matting) floor. The main focus is for the host to make the guests comfortable, and the guests to enjoy the hospitality of the host.

Gratitude and generosity remain the best of values one absorbs during the ceremony. From hand movements to boiling and serving, Sado allows serious peace and tranquillity, satisfying both the physical and spiritual needs.

In a peaceful environment with harmony among the guests and hosts alike, one can forget the day-to-day worries and just enjoy the moment.

A Sado tea ceremony inculcates a perfect picture of the total Japanese culture.
